Western Railway bust unauthorized e-ticket racket


Western Railway’s Mumbai division anti- touting squad has busted a unauthorized e-ticketing racket in Surat, Gujarat.

A check by anti-tout squad conducted at Pradip photo studio(Pradip tours & travels) at shivam complex in Surat on March 14, 2015.

Shop owner Pradip sharma accepted that he was generating e- tickets on personal id & selling them to needy persons on premium of Rs 500  to Rs 1000 per passenger, Western Railway said in a statement.

Western Railways said that a case is registered against the accused at RPF post Udhana  under section  143 of Railways  Act  vide CR no 676/15 dt 14/3/15.

He accepted that he was using software for fast generation of e- tickets, railways statement adds.

He was handed over to RPF  Udhana with 44 e- tickets  generated on personal id for 177 passengers  of value Rs 1,00,239, five Journey cum Reservation Tickets  for 19 passengers of value of Rs 20,035, one laptop, 3 mobile phones, cash Rs 5200, paper chits, booking diaries & bill books.
